Today I have one of many a favourite blue nail polish. But I guess I'm also wondering.... with nail polish what age is too old for some colours. Is there ever such an age, is it a personal thing or is there a known consensus on when a colour should be retired from your fingers permanently.
I love blue, my favourite colour is blue. But as my mid 30's draws closer I guess I'm wondering can I still wear it on my fingers and toes. I mean I wear blue clothes, shoes and accessories, so why do I questions nail polish colours.
I guess this whole thing came about recently spending time with some older 50+ers who seem to only wear nudes and corals, with extremely vocal opinions on why that should be. But my question is, is this the case or just what those people have always worn as they've been available colours for year and years. Plus if you wore red lipstick and nail polish well you had a 'reputation' you know....... anyways this is just something I think on from time to time so sharing that with you. I figure I'll keep wearing blues, blacks and bright neons until I no longer feel like doing so.
Anyways on with this weeks blue nail polish. Barielle's Falling Star. I'm in a love / disappointed relationship with this colour. I love the dusty bright lapis lazuli blue with copper glitter all the way through, but I hate sometimes how it wears and applies.
I find this colour thickens just by looking at it so Seche Restore is always on hand to thin it down, making my application life easier. One problem solved, the second on how it wears for some reason this pretty little polish no matter how thin can at times have a bumpy look, the glitter will sit the wrong way or absorb all top coats applied. Then other times it applies and looks beautiful. Still it's a blue polish I'm happy to have in my collection and wear from time to time, recapturing my youth lets say.
Base coat Revitanail, 2 coats Barielle Falling Star and 2 quick coats of Seche Vite as this is a top coat eater but also requires the gloss to fully shine in my opinion. On with the pics that do not do this colour justice as it's hard to capture and enjoy your weekend.....
